CCC is short for China Compulsory Certification and is similar to the European CE-system which checks if products comply with certain quality standards. In 2002 CCC was introduced in China and it applies to both Chinese and foreign made products. It is important to check whether your product needs certification. If a product needs CCC and you fail to produce the certificate, then Chinese customs will not allow your products to enter the Chinese market.

Even though it is better to avoid any disputes, this isn’t always possible. When it comes to a dispute with your Chinese business partner it often is difficult to get in touch to find a solution. Going to court or the police seems to work in favor of the Chinese party more often than it does for foreign companies, unless you come with a fully waterproof case.
