AMSTERDAM – On Saturday, the 23rd of March, the Dutch Chinese Chamber of Commerce received a delegation of governments and businesses from Guangzhou, led by the president of CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade). During lunch in Sea Palance, several topics were discussed, amongst which the promotion of international trade, strengthening relations between the P.R. China (Guangzhou) and The Netherlands, and the members of the delegation were introduced.

GAC Group

One of the delegation’s participants is Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd (GAC Group). Founded in 1954, GAC Group is the fifth largest automobile manufacturer in P.R. China. In 2021, the group sold over 2.1 million vehicles. In the short term, GAC Group plans to introduce its range of electric cars to the European market. For this operation, GAC is considering the Netherlands for its European headquarters. They will use this visit to further explore the Dutch market.

In addition to its own brand in the local Chinese market, GAC also has the right to manufacture and sell the Honda and Toyota brands. In 2017, GAC launched the brand AION, specifically focused on electric cars.

After lunch, the group went into Amsterdam to explore the canal streets, leaving for the United Kingdom in the evening.
